I'm trying to write more little Karina stories and anecdotes on here, but my stories are always so short. For instance, today she made us read to her for about 4 hours. Not all in a row, but total. I'm not kidding, it was allllll day. She has a cold, so I feel for her, but by the time Sesame Street came on at 7, I was rejoicing in not being begged to "rere" or put "momo" on tv. Phew.
She was starving at 430, wanted her leftover pizza which I had offered her, and then didn't eat it. Instead, she wanted the pancakes that I made myself that she had turned down. Poor Mommy gets only half her dinner.
She's learning colors and numbers, I don't know if I have mentioned that. She learned how to point to things as I count them, which is exciting. She knows the numbers 1, 2, and 5 for sure, and I think she also knows 3 and 4. She knows the color purple for sure, because it's her favorite. She seems to usually be able to tell me yellow, blue, green, and red also. I think this is pretty amazing and I'm really proud of her. She's making lots of connections. The funniest was about Bert from Sesame Street. Every time she'd see his picture or I'd say his name, she'd point out the window. It finally dawned on me that she thought his name was Bird! So I had to explain that to her. And we checked out a library book that was a counting with sea creatures book. At the end, there was a page with the question, "Which doesn't belong under the sea?" and there were pictures of all the sea creatures and a parrot. The very first time we saw the page, she knew which one was out of place, laughed (shrieked) hysterically, and said, "Bird". She cracks me up.
