Lambkin is Musical

On Sundays after church, we go downstairs and have Musikgarten.  Karina loves it of course, because it's pretty much the same as her Wednesday class, only it's religious instead of secular.  Today, Karina needed to bring Lambkin with her to church.  If you don't know, Lambkin is her very very special stuffed lamb.  He was given to her by our Musikgarten teacher's daughter, funnily enough, when the youth group had a quasi-shower for me after she was born.  He is the only stuffed animal she will snuggle.  He comes out with us to lots of places, and today, it was church.  When we got downstairs for Musikgarten, I told her Lambkin would have to sit on the couch and watch.  She was fine with that, and there he sat. 

After we had done a few songs, and heard the sound of the cow and horse, to satisfy Peter's request (all week long he demands to hear the cow and horse and to go to Musikgarten and sing), it was time to use an instrument.  Today, it was shakers.  They are little wooden cylinders about two or three inches long and about an inch and a half in diameter.  They have something inside that makes a muted shaking sound that is actually very pleasant.  Linda calls each child by name when it is their turn to choose their instrument from the box (they are all the same, but the kids still get to pick theirs out, as well as one for their mom or dad or grown-up).  When it was Karina's turn, she picked up three.  One for her, one for me, and one for Lambkin!  She put it right in front of him so he could use it, and Miss Stephanie, who was there learning some of the songs, was not allowed to borrow Lambkin's shaker!

When the song was over, and we put the instruments away, Karina took mine, hers, and Lambkin's, and put them away, just like she usually does.  It was so cute.

Here are a few photos of Karina and her precious Lambkin.  To let you know, he is a stuffed head of a lamb with a flat, blanket-like body.  He is a Gund Comfy-Cozy pet called "Lopsy".  He is super soft, and while he may look unusual, she ADORES him.

 And now he is relaxing in the backyard on one of Karina's little chairs.  She's laughing because he's in the chair (you can't tell she's laughing because of how I caught her with the camera, but she is).
